Checkout
The checkout process follows a few specific steps:
- Check your ratings and endorsements.
To fly D-EMHL you need a valid PPL license with EFIS, VP and RG endorsements. If you don’t have those endorsements, a perfect way is to combine that training with the checkout itself. An instrument rating is not a requirement, but the aircraft and its avionics are perfect for IFR flights. - Make sure you have logged 200 hours of total flying time and at least 12 hours in the last twelve months.
- Read the documentation that can be found here.
- Make sure you are familiar with all avionics.
The avionics manuals can be found here. There are excellent YouTube videos for all the devices in the aircraft, check out the Garmin YouTube channel. There is also an iPad simulator for the GTN 750Xi. - Take the Technical test.
- Contact an approved instructor and book your checkout flight(s).
Checkout can be done with THF’s flight instructors. However, we are also working with Niklas Sehlstedt, who flies his own Commander. Please contact Niklas directly on niklas.sehlstedt@hotmail.com, or +46 702 42 29 40.
